M38 (in alto a destra) è un ammasso aperto visibile nella costellazione Auriga. Fu scoperto da Giovanni Battista Odierna nel 1654. Si trova quasi nel centro geometrico della costellazione ed è ben visibile anche con piccoli strumenti amatoriali, come dei binocoli. Vicino ad esso (alla sua sinistra) si trova un altro ammasso piú piccolo: NGC1907.
