Sh2-252 is an emission nebula in the Orion constellation, bordering the Gemini. It is also known as “Monkey Head nebula” because of its peculiar shape. It is a large H II region which extends for 25′. It is located at a distance of 6500 light years from us and contains the open cluster NGC 2175.
